But each one is tempted when he is carried away
and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has
conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is
accomplished, it brings forth death.

Death is the constant companion of sin. In fact, it is
such a close companion that the two cannot be separated.
Christ came down to destroy the works of the devil. The
works of the devil are sin and death; and the power of both
were broken in His crucifixion, and overcome by His resurrection.
